The naira traded at around 1,357 per dollar in Nigeria’s official foreign exchange market on Monday morning, posting a modest gain from previous levels, according to central bank data.
The currency appreciated to N1,357.26 per dollar at the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM), compared with 1,361.05 recorded earlier, according to data published on the Central Bank of Nigeria’s trading platform.
The gain represented an increase of about N3.79.
Recent market reports showed that the Nigerian currency had strengthened modestly at the official window in the first week of June.

The currency had previously traded above N1,360 per dollar in early June before Monday’s uptick.
According to analysts, foreign exchange inflows, foreign portfolio investments, crude oil receipts, and general market liquidity conditions will all affect the naira’s performance in the days ahead.
The data shows that 100 dollars was worth roughly N135,726 at the official NFEM window on June 8, 2026, at the going rate.
