Nigerian Midfielder Onazi Joins Crotone

Super Eagles of Nigeria midfielder Ogenyi Onazi has completed a move to Serie A newcomers Crotone on a three-year deal.

The combative midfielder joins The Pythagoreans on a free transfer after terminating his contract with Turkish Super Lig club Denizlispor over unpaid wages.

The 27-year-old is now set to link up with compatriot and striker ‘Simy’ Nwankwo, who he appeared with for Nigeria at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Nwankwo finished as top scorer in Serie B this past season and has already registered his optimism in playing alongside his fellow countryman.

Onazi had previously starred for Serie A side Lazio in 2012 before moving to Turkey to join Trabzonspor.
