Nigeria’s Southeast Governors Meet to Discuss Insecurity

Reacting to the worsening Insecurity in the Southeast zone, governors, political, religious, traditional and other leaders from the region have held a closed-door meeting at the Enugu Government House, in Enugu State.

The meeting is believed to have been convened in response to Saturday’s attack on the country home of Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma.

Another reason is the domestication of the regional security outfit, code-named Ebube Agu in each of the five states.

The outfit will oversee and monitor the activities of vigilante groups in the Southeast of the country.

This is the second time, the governors are meeting this month to deliberate on the safety and security of lives and property in the south-eastern region
