The Presidency has dismissed claims circulating on social media that President Bola Tinubu has replaced his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, with his Principal Private Secretary, Hakeem Muri-Okunola.
The denial follows some social media posts that started spreading the unverified rumour that Gbajabiamila’s position had changed.
Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, described the report as a “viral falsehood” in a statement issued on Thursday, December 25.
“There is absolutely no truth to this story,” Onanuga said.
Onanuga hinted that both officials remain in their respective positions, noting that “the Chief of Staff remains in his position.”

“The Principal Private Secretary likewise remains in his role. Hakeem Muri-Okunola has not replaced Femi Gbajabiamila as Chief of Staff,” he added.
Onanuga advised Nigerians to disregard the report in its entirety, describing it as a fabrication aimed at creating disharmony within the government.
“The viral claim is a fabrication by mischievous purveyors of fake news whose sole aim is to create disharmony within the government.
“We reiterate that news media should always verify their information before publishing or sharing on social media.”
