Helicopters are commonly used in Nepal to transport tourists, climbers and supplies, as well as conduct emergency evacuations.

However, the country’s rugged Himalayan terrain and unpredictable weather make flying particularly risky.

Nepal is home to eight of the world’s 14 highest mountains, including Mount Everest, and attracts thousands of international climbers and trekkers each year.
