Algeria have parted ways with head coach Vladimir Petkovic by mutual consent, the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) announced on Monday.
Petkovic, 62, took charge in 2024 after replacing Djamel Belmadi but leaves just two months after signing a contract extension that was due to keep him in the role until 2028.
Under the Bosnian-born coach, Algeria reached the knockout stage of the World Cup for only the second time in their history, matching their 2014 achievement.
Their campaign ended in the last 32 with a 2-0 defeat by Switzerland.
Algeria also exited the Africa Cup of Nations at the quarter-final stage in January after losing 2-0 to Nigeria.
The FAF did not announce a replacement for Petkovic, who previously managed Switzerland from 2014 to 2021.
