An unidentified woman’s mutilated corpse has been found along Barracks Road, near the Government Reserved Area (GRA) Roundabout in the Ondo West Local Government Area.
The spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, Olayinka Jimoh, confirmed the incident in a statement.
Jimoh said the command has launched an investigation following the discovery of the body.
“On Monday, July 13, at about 9:40 a.m., the command received a report regarding the presence of a lifeless body at the location,” he said.
“Acting swiftly on the report, a team of police operatives was immediately deployed to the scene.

“Upon arrival, the officers discovered the headless body of a female victim. Preliminary observations revealed that several parts of the body had been mutilated.
“Investigations have commenced to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident, establish the identity of the deceased, apprehend those responsible, and determine the motive behind the gruesome act.”
Jimoh condemned the killing and assured the public that the perpetrators would be brought to justice.
“Members of the public who may have useful information that could assist the investigation are urged to report to the nearest police station or contact the command through its emergency lines.
“The area remains calm, and adequate security measures have been put in place to ensure the safety of residents while investigations continue,” he added.
