Paramount Skydance agreed on Friday to delay its proposed $110 billion merger with Warner Bros. Discovery through June 2027 while a US lawsuit seeking to block the transaction moves through the court system.

According to a formal court filing, the delay follows a Monday ruling by a California federal judge who ordered a temporary pause on the deal.

The legal pause came just two days before European Union regulators granted conditional antitrust approval for the mega-merger.

If finalised, the transaction will fundamentally reshape the global media and entertainment landscape while handing a significant corporate victory to the Ellison family, who maintain close ties to US President Donald Trump.

The Trump administration previously cleared the blockbuster merger on June 12 without imposing any structural conditions, setting up the current legal showdown in federal court.
