England’s World Cup Round of 16 match against Mexico has been considered for an earlier kick-off time because of expected storms and flooding.

The match is scheduled to take place on Sunday at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City.

According to a source close to the arrangements, football’s world governing body, FIFA, is discussing changing the kick-off time due to the risk of extreme weather.

The game is currently set to begin at 6:00 pm local time, but reports in Mexico suggest it could be moved to 12:00 p.m.

The weather concerns come after Mexico’s Round of 32 victory over Ecuador on Tuesday, when heavy rainfall forced the match to start one hour later than scheduled.

FIFA has not yet confirmed whether the kick-off time for Sunday’s match will be changed.
