President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday observed Eid-el-Kabir prayers alongside other Muslim faithful at Dodan Barracks in Lagos.
He was accompanied by key government officials, including Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, former Lagos governor Babatunde Fashola, Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker Mudashiru Obasa, Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat and other worshippers.
Presidential aide on social media, Dada Olusegun, said in a post on X(formerly Twitter) that the President observed the prayers alongside other Muslim faithful, describing the gathering as a moment of reflection and worship.
Speaking after the prayers, the President called on Nigerians to embrace love, tolerance and obedience to both divine guidance and the rule of law.

He said the Eid period offered an opportunity for reflection and unity, stressing the importance of peaceful coexistence among citizens.
He added that Nigerians must draw lessons from the season by showing love to one another without discrimination.
“We must learn from the lessons of this season and it’s to share love with one another, no discrimination, no hatred, and we should share love and be generous to one another in a way that would reflect the value of our country and the humanity in us. It is essential that we be very tolerant and obedient to the wishes of Allah and obedient to the rule of law which must guide our society,” Tinubu stated.
Meanwhile, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar observed Eid prayers alongside other Muslim faithful at the AYA Mosque in Abuja.

In a post on his social media handle, Atiku said he offered prayers in gratitude to God for His blessings, noting that the occasion called for reflection and thanksgiving.

He urged Nigerians to embrace unity, compassion and peace during the celebration, adding that the values of Eid should strengthen national cohesion.
Atiku also extended greetings to Muslims in Nigeria and across the world, praying for peace and prosperity for the country.
“I joined fellow Muslims this morning at the AYA Mosque in Abuja to observe the Eid prayers in gratitude to Allah for His countless blessings,” he wrote.
“As we celebrate this sacred occasion, may the spirit of Eid strengthen our bonds of unity, compassion, sacrifice, and peace as one people and one nation,” Atiku stated.
“Eid Mubarak to all Muslim faithful across Nigeria and around the world. May Allah accept our prayers and grant lasting peace and prosperity to our nation,” he added.
