Nigeria’s sprint hurdler Tobi Amusan produced a stunning performance to win the women’s 100m hurdles at the Rabat Diamond League in Morocco on Sunday.
The world record holder stormed to victory in 12.28 seconds, matching her season’s best and securing her first Diamond League win of the 2026 campaign.
Amusan finished comfortably ahead of the field, with Devynne Charlton of the Bahamas placing second in 12.40 seconds, while Nadine Visser of the Netherlands finished third in 12.47 seconds.

The Nigerian athlete also broke the meeting record of 12.45 seconds, which she had set at the same venue in 2025, further underlining her dominance in the event.
The victory marks a significant milestone for Amusan, who had previously recorded podium finishes in the Diamond League this season without claiming a win.
She opened her Diamond League campaign with a third-place finish in Shanghai, clocking 12.41 seconds, before improving to second place at the Xiamen Diamond League in China with a time of 12.28 seconds.
Prior to the Diamond League season, Amusan won gold in the women’s 100m hurdles at the 2026 African Championships in Accra, securing Nigeria’s first gold medal of the competition.
The Rabat triumph provides further momentum as she prepares to defend her Commonwealth Games title later this year.
Amusan’s next outing will be at the Wanda Diamond League meeting in Rome, Italy, on June 4.
