President Donald Trump confirmed Sunday that British authorities arrested five terrorism suspects who planned to attack a UK military facility housing American troops and aircraft.
Speaking during a visit to Chicago, Trump praised joint intelligence efforts, stating that security forces monitored the suspects for an extended period before launching the operation.
The US President emphasised that close cooperation between intelligence agencies prevented a major attack on Allied infrastructure.
“We had them under investigation. They were looking to do big damage to our fort, and working with the British worked out great,” Trump said. “We had them under surveillance for a long time, and we got them.”
