President Bola Tinubu has been formally presented with the Certificate of Return as the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate for the 2027 general election.

The APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, presented the certificate to President Tinubu on Sunday at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja.

According to results announced at the event, Tinubu polled 10,999,162 votes, while his sole challenger, Stanley Osifo, received 16,503 votes.

The ceremony was attended by APC governors, members of the National Executive Committee, National Working Committee, National Assembly members and other party leaders.

The nationwide direct primary was conducted across polling units, with results collated from all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

Tinubu also received the party’s flag as its standard bearer for the 2027 presidential election, where he will seek a second term in office.

In his acceptance speech, Tinubu noted the challenges facing the nation but expressed confidence in his administration’s reforms.

“Challenges remain. Many Nigerians still struggle with rising costs and economic adjustment. We do not dismiss these concerns; we understand them and govern not in comfort, but in reality—with honesty and action,” Tinubu said.

The president acknowledged security challenges still confronting parts of the country.

“I assure you that I take seriously the responsibility to safeguard the lives and property of every Nigerian. Our government has intensified efforts to strengthen our security architecture, support our brave armed forces and the police, and forge stronger partnerships with local communities,” he said.

“We have invested in intelligence, surveillance, and modern equipment, and we are addressing the root causes of insecurity. We also expect the National Assembly to amend the Constitution to allow the creation of State police as a matter of national emergency.”
