The World Health Organisation (WHO) announced Wednesday that it cannot produce a full risk assessment regarding the suspected plague death of a laboratory technician in Russia due to incomplete information from local authorities.

WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus confirmed the limitation during a press conference in Geneva.

“We don’t yet have the full picture of this event, and we’re not able to conduct a full risk assessment,” Tedros stated.
