“Widow’s Bay” swept the 78th Emmy Awards in Los Angeles on Monday, winning Outstanding Comedy Series and setting a historical record with 14 total wins in a single year.
Stars Matthew Rhys, Stephen Root, and Kate O’Flynn earned comedy acting honours for the breakout show, while Rhys achieved a rare double victory by also claiming lead actor in a limited series for “The Beast in Me.”
“The Pitt” repeated its dominance by securing Outstanding Drama Series, with lead Noah Wyle winning Lead Actor in a Drama.
Apple TV’s Rhea Seehorn took the lead actress in a drama for “Pluribus,” while Tom Pelphrey (“Task”) and Allison Janney (“The Diplomat”) claimed the supporting drama trophies. Jean Smart won Lead Actress in a Comedy for the final season of “Hacks.”
“DTF St. Louis” captured Outstanding Limited Series, sweeping supporting honours for David Harbour and Linda Cardellini. Sally Field won Lead Actress in a Limited Series for “Remarkably Bright Creatures.”
Hosted by “Law & Order: SVU” star Mariska Hargitay, the ceremony celebrated the television industry’s top achievements across comedy, drama, and limited series formats.
