Nigeria’s Labour Minister Brokers Truce as Electricity Workers Suspend Strike

After a three-hour deliberation with Nigeria’s Labour Minister, Dr Chris Ngige, the leadership of the National Union Electricity Employees (NUEE) has temporarily suspended the strike embarked upon by the Union.

The decision to suspend the strike for two weeks was a fallout of the conciliation meeting between the Federal Government and the striking electricity workers, which ended in Abuja on Wednesday.

In principle, the aggrived workers agreed to call off the industrial action which has thrown the country into a total blackout.
