Preston Player Gets Eight-Match Ban for Biting Opponent

Punishment has been handed down to Preston striker Milutin Osmajic, who has received an eight-game suspension for biting Blackburn defender Owen Beck. In addition to the lengthy ban, Osmajic, who admitted to the charge of violent conduct, has been fined £15,000 for his actions.

Osmajic bit Beck towards the end of a goalless Championship match between the two Lancashire teams at Deepdale on September 22.

The Montenegro striker got involved in the altercation with Beck shortly after the Blackburn player was red-carded for kicking Preston’s Duane Holmes during the second-tier fixture.

During his post-match press conference, Blackburn boss John Eustace stated, “Beck has a noticeable bite mark on the back of his neck. He has shown it to all the lads. He’s feeling a bit subdued and shaken.”

“The forward admitted to committing an act of violent conduct around the 87th minute by biting an opponent,” the Football Association announced on Friday.
