Vinicius Silences Transfer Speculation, Vows to Stay at Real Madrid for ‘Many More Years’

Vinicius Jr. has put an end to speculation about a move to Saudi Arabia, expressing his desire to stay at Real Madrid for the long term in an interview published on Friday.

The 24-year-old Brazilian forward made it clear that his future lies with the Spanish giants, citing his ambition to continue making history at the club. “Being able to keep making history here is very important for me and my family. I hope to stay in the team for many more years,” Vinicius told Real Madrid’s official media channels.

Rumours had been circulating that Vinicius received a massive offer to join one of the top clubs in Saudi Arabia, a country that has recently attracted high-profile players such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar. However, Vinicius has firmly rejected those claims, opting instead to focus on his career at Real Madrid.

Vinicius recently achieved a significant milestone, scoring his 100th goal for Real Madrid in a Champions League match against Salzburg. This achievement placed him among the club’s legends, including Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Raul, Alfredo Di Stefano, and his fellow Brazilian, Ronaldo Nazário.

Reflecting on his journey, Vinicius said, “I came here as a boy, at 18 and with lots of dreams. I didn’t think I would score so many goals in a short time. Entering club history is very tough because there have been many players and legends who have scored so many goals and won so much. To be with them is important and I was dreaming of that.”

Vinicius will be available for selection for Real Madrid’s La Liga match against Espanyol on Saturday after serving a two-match suspension for a red card.

Real Madrid is currently at the top of the La Liga table, four points clear of Atletico Madrid and seven ahead of Barcelona, as they aim to defend their Spanish and European titles.
