“His projects are in every nook and cranny of the constituency, as he was the only Senator that re-contested and won for a second term in the zone.”

Akwashiki was first elected to the Senate in 2019 and won re-election in 2023, becoming the only senator from Nasarawa North to secure two consecutive terms since the creation of Nasarawa State. He was elected on the Social Democratic Party (SDP) platform.

Before his election to the National Assembly, Akwashiki served several terms in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly. He rose to become Majority Leader and later Deputy Speaker of the House.

The burial arrangements have not yet been disclosed by the family.
