The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has dismissed claims by Senegal football authorities that organisers hindered Senegal’s preparations for the final of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

CAF, in a statement on Saturday, said it remained guided by the “principles of fairness, transparency and strict adherence” to competition regulations.

“Throughout the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025, CAF, working together with the Local Organising Committee, has ensured that all Teams are subjected to the same conditions,” CAF said.

The response followed a statement by the Senegalese federation accusing organisers of shortcomings in security, accommodation, training facilities and ticket allocation prior to Sunday’s final against host nation Morocco.

Senegal claimed its delegation encountered security challenges upon arriving in Rabat by train after their semi-final victory over Egypt, alleging inadequate crowd control at the station. It added that the team was initially housed in a hotel that did not meet required standards, adding that a formal protest was needed before a five-star hotel was eventually provided.

In response to the accusation, CAF said that Senegal was given the option to choose its preferred hotel before the final and that this request was granted.

CAF concluded by wishing both teams the best of luck ahead of the Final that will be watched globally.
