Senegal lifted the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations(AFCON) title on Sunday after defeating host nation Morocco 1-0 in the final held in Rabat.
Pape Gueye struck the decisive goal in the 94th minute, settling a tense encounter that remained scoreless after 90 minutes. Despite sustained late pressure from the Atlas Lions, Senegal held firm to secure the continental crown.
At the end of the tournament, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced the winners of the team and individual honours.

CAF also recognised Morocco with the Fair Play Award, despite their defeat in the final, citing their discipline throughout the competition.

Mané claimed the top individual honour after inspiring Senegal’s wins with consistent performances and two goals.
Diaz was awarded as the competition’s leading scorer with five goals, while Bounou was rewarded for his commanding displays in goalkeeping.
The 2025 AFCON ended with a dramatic finale, capping a tournament marked by high intensity and decisive moments.
