History was made at the 68th annual Grammy Awards as Bad Bunny secured Album of the Year for Debí Tirar Más Fotos, becoming the first artist to win the top prize with a Spanish-language work.

The 31-year-old superstar used his platform to deliver a sharp political message against U.S. immigration raids, donning an “ICE OUT” pin and declaring, “We are humans, and we are Americans.”

Kendrick Lamar was the night’s most frequent winner, collecting five Grammys, including Record of the Year for “Luther” featuring SZA.

His dominant performance follows a massive year of hits, further cementing his status as a rap icon. Other major winners included Billie Eilish and Finneas for Song of the Year (“Wildflower”) and Britain’s Olivia Dean, who was named Best New Artist.

The ceremony was marked by electric performances, including Lady Gaga—who won two awards for her album Mayhem—and a star-studded tribute to Black Sabbath led by Post Malone and Slash.

Amid the celebration, the evening carried a heavy political undertone, with legendary artist Joni Mitchell and others joining Bad Bunny in protesting the current administration’s immigration policies.

This marks the first time in Grammy history that a Spanish-language project has won the night’s top honour.

The Puerto Rican superstar ended the evening with three trophies in total, including Best Global Music Performance. Rapper Kendrick Lamar emerged as the night’s most decorated artist, taking home five Grammys.

Other notable wins included Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande for their Wicked-themed performance of “Defying Gravity,” and British singer Lola Young, who took home Best Pop Solo Performance.

The ceremony also highlighted global sounds, with Brazilian icons Caetano Veloso and Maria Bethânia winning Best Global Music Album.
