Former US President Bill Clinton will testify before a Republican-led House Oversight Committee on Friday about his past associations with Jeffrey Epstein.

The closed-door deposition follows months of legal manoeuvring and comes just one day after his wife, Hillary Clinton, delivered her own testimony.

While the former president has not been accused of any criminal wrongdoing, the committee is focusing on millions of newly released documents and photographs from the Department of Justice that highlight his interactions with the disgraced financier.

The hearing has quickly devolved into a partisan battlefield, with Democrats accusing Republicans of weaponising the investigation to target political rivals.

During her testimony on Thursday, Hillary Clinton shifted the spotlight toward Donald Trump, demanding that the panel place him under oath to explain his own “tens of thousands” of mentions in the Epstein files.

The Clintons have characterised the proceedings as a “kangaroo court” and have called for the sessions to be made public and televised to ensure transparency.

Central to the committee’s interest are newly surfaced photographs and travel logs.

One image reportedly shows Bill Clinton in a hot tub, while another depicts him swimming with Epstein’s convicted accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell.

Clinton has previously acknowledged flying on Epstein’s private jet for humanitarian work related to his foundation but maintains that he severed all ties with the billionaire well before Epstein’s 2008 conviction for sex offences involving minors.

As the depositions continue in Chappaqua, New York, under heavy security, the political stakes remain high.

Republicans, led by Chairman James Comer, insist the probe is necessary to understand how Epstein maintained such a powerful social circle, while Maxwell’s own legal team has maintained that both Clinton and Trump are innocent of any criminal involvement.

The outcome of these interviews is expected to further ignite the debate over the intersection of wealth, power, and accountability in the Epstein saga.
