United States President Donald Trump on Saturday said he believes Iran was responsible for a strike that Iranian authorities say hit a school in the southern county of Minab.
Speaking to reporters aboard the presidential aircraft Air Force One, Trump suggested the attack was likely carried out by Iran, arguing that the country’s weapons lack precision.
“We think it was done by Iran. Because they are very inaccurate, as you know, with their munitions. They have no accuracy whatsoever.”
Iranian authorities had earlier said the strike targeted a girls’ elementary school last Saturday, leaving more than 150 people dead, most of them students. Neither Israel nor the United States has accepted responsibility for the reported attack.

US officials say the incident is still under investigation, while Tehran has accused Washington of carrying it out. Independent verification of the incident has been difficult.
Meanwhile, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said on Friday that it had launched strikes on a US military facility in the United Arab Emirates in response. The group claimed it targeted the Al Dhafra Air Base with drones and precision missiles, alleging the base had been used to launch the attack.
The Pentagon confirmed it is examining the incident, while US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the United States would not intentionally strike a school.
