President Bola Tinubu arrived in Lagos State on Thursday to observe the Good Friday holiday after a condolence visit to Jos in Plateau State.
The president had earlier visited Jos, where he met with victims and families affected by the recent attack in the Angwan Rukuba area that left at least 29 people dead and several others injured.
His aircraft touched down Thursday night at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, where he was received by Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governor of Lagos State, alongside other government officials and dignitaries.
Video footage shared by the Nigerian Television Authority showed the president being welcomed with drums and songs at the airport.
During his visit to Jos, Tinubu met with bereaved families, traditional rulers, and senior government officials, assuring them of the federal government’s support.

He also ordered the deployment of 5,000 surveillance cameras and directed security agencies to track down and apprehend those responsible for the killings.
While in Lagos, the president is expected to commission several infrastructure projects carried out by the administration of Governor Sanwo-Olu as part of activities marking the Easter period.
According to a statement by his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu will travel to Ogun State on Saturday, April 4, to commission the Gateway International Cargo Airport and inaugurate two commercial aircraft designated for export and import operations.
He is also expected to inaugurate the new headquarters of the Federal Operations Unit of the Nigeria Customs Service.
The president will subsequently return to Lagos to continue his Easter holiday, then travel to Bayelsa State on April 10 to commission projects completed by the administration of Governor Douye Diri, before returning to Abuja.
The president has also been called upon by the United States government to strengthen protection for Christians ahead of and during the Easter holiday.
