Residents of Angwan Rukuba, Plateau State, where gunmen launched an assault on March 29, 2026, and killed no fewer than 20 people, have staged a protest to kick against the arrest of three young men in the community on Tuesday.

The young men were arrested by security forces over allegations of illegal possession of weapons. Tuesday’s protest in the community, which recently witnessed a gruesome killing, halted the mass funeral service at ECWA Gospel Church in the community.

Young men and elderly women were seen carrying placards and expressing frustration over the arrests.

“How will they come and kill us and still capture our boys and say that they are bandits? Let them bring those boys, if not, this burial will not take place,” one of the youth said.
