US rapper Kanye West has postponed his concert in the French city of Marseille on Tuesday, April 14, until further notice, following reports that the country’s Interior Minister was moving to ban the performance.

In the late hours of Tuesday, he took to his X account to disclose the news. He wrote, “After much thought and consideration, it is my sole decision to postpone my show in Marseille, France until further notice”.

According to an AFP report, France’s Interior Minister Laurent Nunez was pushing to cancel the rapper from performing in the southern city in a concert scheduled for June 11 due to his antisemitic remarks.

West has been criticised for making antisemitic remarks and expressing admiration for Adolf Hitler. Britain has blocked him from entering the country due to his blowups, prompting organisers of a festival he was to headline to cancel the July event. Also, Prime Minister Keir Starmer commented that booking West is “deeply concerning.”

Speaking on the ban of Ye’s concert, in May 2025, the rapper released a song called “Heil Hitler,” months after advertising a swastika t-shirt for sale on his website. Major streaming platforms banned the song, and West expressed regret for his conduct and blamed it on his bipolar disorder.
