The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and the Hollywood Historic Trust announced on Wednesday that country music icon Dolly Parton will receive a replacement star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this Friday following recent vandalism.
Fans had gathered at the original 1984 star to leave flowers and candles as the United States mourned the singer, philanthropist, and entrepreneur following her death last week at age 80, which prompted President Donald Trump to order flags lowered to half-staff.
Vandals defaced the monument on Monday, severely scratching Parton’s name off the terrazzo plaque in damage captured on social media videos.

Chamber official Ana Martinez noted that workers had cleared earlier fan tributes in preparation for scheduled structural repairs when the vandalism occurred.
The Hollywood Historic Trust confirmed it will install the brand-new star in time for public viewing by Friday to honour Parton’s enduring legacy.
