Iran’s Civil Aviation Authority announced on Saturday that it has partially reopened the country’s airspace to international flights transiting through the eastern corridor.

In a statement released early Saturday, the authority said, “Air routes in the eastern section of the country’s airspace are open for international flights transiting through Iran.”

It added that some airports had also resumed operations as of 7:00 a.m. local time (0330 GMT).

Despite the announcement, flight tracker websites, including FlightRadar24, showed no international flights crossing Iranian airspace as of approximately 10:30 a.m. (0600 GMT).

Several carriers continued to avoid the region entirely, with aircraft making long detours around Iranian territory.
