Veteran boxing promoter Frank Warren has issued a stark warning to Anthony Joshua, stating that an upcoming loss would dismantle the highly anticipated domestic showdown with Tyson Fury.
Although both camps recently agreed to a late-2024 clash at Wembley Stadium, Warren emphasised that the deal is contingent on Joshua defeating Kristian Prenga in Saudi Arabia on July 25.
According to Warren, a defeat for Joshua would effectively “kill” the commercial and competitive appeal of the long-awaited “Battle of Britain.”
The stakes are particularly high for Joshua, as the bout against the Albanian heavyweight marks his emotional return to the ring.
This will be his first professional appearance since a tragic car accident in Nigeria last December, an event that claimed the lives of two of his friends.

Beyond the physical challenge, the fight represents a critical test of Joshua’s focus and resilience following that personal tragedy.
Meanwhile, Tyson Fury remains eager to stay active.
Warren noted that the “Gypsy King” relies on a consistent training and fighting schedule to maintain both his physical fitness and mental well-being.
While the boxing world waits for a definitive date for the Fury-Joshua mega-fight, Warren stressed that Fury needs a clear target to stay disciplined, and any slip-up by Joshua in July would force a total collapse of those plans.
