A U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III aircraft delivered military equipment to the Nigerian Air Force over the weekend as part of a foreign military sales agreement, the U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) said on Thursday.
The equipment arrived at locations in Lagos and Kainji.
AFRICOM described the shipment as “partnership in action”.

It stated that it forms part of an agreement that “furthers the U.S.-Nigerian partnership and will aid in Nigeria’s efforts to counter terrorism in the region.”
Images released by AFRICOM show U.S. and Nigerian personnel involved in the offloading operations alongside the aircraft.
AFRICOM did not disclose the type, quantity or value of the equipment delivered.
The command noted that U.S. military support to the Armed Forces of Nigeria is provided by invitation and is rooted in respect for Nigerian sovereignty.
The delivery comes amid ongoing bilateral security cooperation focused on counterterrorism and other regional threats.
Nigerian presidential adviser Bayo Onanuga noted the AFRICOM announcement on X, framing it as evidence of the growing defence partnership between the two countries.
