Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has emerged as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Kogi Central Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general elections.

This was contained in a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday by her Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mike Idoko.

Idoko said party members and supporters took part in an affirmation exercise conducted across the 57 wards in the senatorial district.

He explained that the process was held simultaneously across all wards before the final collation at Kahal Cinema in Okene, where party leaders, stakeholders and supporters gathered to conclude the exercise.

The statement added that officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) monitored the process alongside journalists to ensure transparency and compliance with electoral guidelines.

Speaking after the collation of results, Natasha expressed appreciation to party members and supporters, describing the outcome as a strong vote of confidence in her leadership.

She said the affirmation reflected the trust of the people in what she described as a shared vision for progress, inclusion and development.

According to her, the large turnout across the 57 wards showed a strong commitment to democratic participation within the district.

She said she was honoured by the support, stressing that the exercise went beyond individual ambition and reflected a collective desire to strengthen democracy in Kogi Central.

Natasha added that she remained committed to representing the interests of the district and maintaining close engagement with communities across the senatorial zone.

She assured supporters that she would focus on delivering development, justice and opportunities if elected in 2027.

“This affirmation is a reflection of the trust and confidence the people of Kogi Central have continued to place in our collective vision for progress, inclusion and development,” she said.

“I am deeply humbled by the massive turnout across all 57 wards. This is not just about one individual; it is about our people coming together in unity to deepen democracy and build a stronger and more prosperous Kogi Central.

“I accept this responsibility with gratitude and renewed commitment. By the grace of God and with the continued support of our people, we will remain focused on delivering sustainable development, justice and opportunities for everyone,” she added.
