The Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, on Wednesday participated in the screening exercise organised by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Details of the exercise were disclosed in a statement issued in Abuja on Wednesday by the senator’s aide, Mike Idoko.
The screening, held in Lokoja, Kogi State, brought together aspirants seeking various elective positions under the PDP as part of preparations for the party’s primaries ahead of the 2027 polls.
Speaking after the screening, Akpoti-Uduaghan said she arrived fully prepared with all required documents and credentials for the exercise, adding that she had completed the screening process for the Kogi Central senatorial contest.
The senator described the exercise as an important democratic process and reaffirmed her commitment to effective representation and service delivery.
According to her, the move reflects a renewed dedication to purposeful leadership and continued service to the people of Kogi Central.

“Today, I travelled to Lokoja to participate in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) screening exercise for aspirants seeking elective offices in the 2027 general elections,” she said.
“Taking no chances, I arrived fully prepared with all required credentials and supporting documents. I am pleased to have successfully completed the screening exercise as part of the process ahead of the party primaries for the 2027 Kogi Central Senatorial Election under the platform of the PDP.”
Akpoti-Uduaghan also pledged to continue pursuing programmes to improve the welfare of residents through legislation, infrastructure development, youth empowerment and better social services if re-elected.
Her proposed second-term agenda, according to the statement, includes expanded youth and women empowerment initiatives, improved access to education through scholarship programmes, rehabilitation of rural roads, enhanced healthcare delivery and increased support for small businesses across the five local government areas in Kogi Central.
She also promised to intensify efforts to attract more federal projects to the district, improve electricity supply, strengthen community security collaboration and support policies capable of driving job creation and economic growth.
The senator stated that her political mission remained centred on service, unity and inclusive leadership.
The statement further noted that supporters across Kogi Central had continued to express optimism over her participation in the screening exercise, describing it as a major step toward the PDP primaries and the 2027 elections.
According to the statement, support for Akpoti-Uduaghan’s anticipated re-election bid has continued to grow among party stakeholders and grassroots supporters ahead of the polls.
