The Action Alliance has chosen its National Chairman, Adekunle Rufai Omoaje, to fly its flag in the 2027 presidential election, throwing the party into the race for Nigeria’s top political office.

Omoaje, a grassroots politician from Ede in Osun State, accepted the nomination at a ceremony in the capital on Saturday, vowing to offer purposeful leadership and advance the party’s vision of good governance, unity and national development.

“First and foremost, I give all glory, honour and praise to Almighty God. His grace, mercy and unfailing guidance have brought us to this remarkable moment,” Omoaje said.

“God remains our strength through every challenge and every victory.”

The AA chairman described his emergence as a shared victory rather than a personal accomplishment.

“This nomination is not a personal achievement; it is a collective victory for every dedicated member who remained loyal to the ideals and vision of our party, even in difficult times,” he said.

He also expressed gratitude to his family for their patience and sacrifices during what he called a tough political and legal journey.

Omoaje applauded journalists for their fair coverage of the party’s legal battles, saying their professionalism had deepened democracy.

He also singled out lawyer Prof. Amupitan for praise, acknowledging his role in navigating the party through judicial processes.

“Your commitment to justice and the rule of law will always be remembered,” Omoaje said.

He also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission for respecting court rulings, adding that adherence to judicial decisions is crucial for democratic stability.

Looking ahead to 2027, Omoaje promised to lead a government built on integrity, fairness and national renewal.

“This is not the end of a struggle; it is the beginning of a greater mission,” he said.

He called on party members to stay united, expressing confidence that the AA can offer Nigerians a genuine alternative in the next election.
