The UN Security Council will hold an emergency meeting on Monday to address Israel’s expanding offensive in Lebanon following the capture of the mediaeval Beaufort Castle, according to diplomatic sources.

France requested the urgent session to discuss the escalating conflict.

Council members will convene immediately after another emergency meeting scheduled for 3:00 pm, which will address a Russian drone crashing into a Romanian apartment building.
