The Brazilian Football Confederation announced Monday that Neymar is recovering well from a calf injury, keeping his World Cup hopes alive.

An MRI scan showed the 34-year-old forward is making good progress under the medical staff’s supervision.

The forward skipped team training on Monday at the New York Red Bulls facility, opting instead for an indoor gym session.

Neymar faces a tight deadline as Brazil begins its tournament against Morocco this Saturday in New Jersey.

Head coach Carlo Ancelotti previously stated he feels no rush to force the Santos star back onto the field.

Ancelotti expects Neymar to feature in either the first or second match of the campaign.
