Spanish professional footballer Alexia Putellas has won the 2026 Women’s Ballon d’Or, claiming the prestigious award for the third time.
The Spanish midfielder received the honour on Monday, at the 70th Ballon d’Or ceremony held at the London Palladium in England.
Putellas, who plays for London City Lionesses, adds another major individual award to her career. She previously won the Women’s Ballon d’Or in 2021 and 2022.

Her latest victory marks her return to the top of women’s football after several years outside the award’s top three.
The 32-year-old left Barcelona in July 2026 after 14 years with the Spanish club. She joined London City Lionesses before the 2026–27 season.
Putellas’ latest achievement further strengthens her place among the leading players in women’s football.
