Reigning champion Jannik Sinner overcame both a spirited challenge from Jan-Lennard Struff and sweltering 30°C heat on Tuesday to ease into his third Wimbledon semi-final.
The world number one neutralised the 36-year-old German’s aggressive play to secure a 7-5, 7-6 (7/4), 6-3 quarter-final victory.
Sinner will compete on Friday for a spot in his seventh Grand Slam final against either seven-time champion Novak Djokovic or Canadian third seed Felix Auger-Aliassime.
The young Italian handled the intense heat at the All England Club impressively, showing significant physical improvement since his recent second-round collapse at the French Open.

Sinner credited his team for analysing those previous physical struggles and adjusting his training regimen ahead of London.
Though Struff pushed the top seed to a second-set tie-break and became the oldest first-time Grand Slam quarter-finalist in the Open era, Sinner won the final three games of the third set to wrap up a comfortable victory.
