Former Anambra State Governor and Nigerian Democratic Congress presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has alleged that his life may be in danger, claiming that the government is deliberately targeting him and obstructing his activities.
Speaking during an interview on With Chude, hosted by media personality Chude Jideonwo and shared on X on Wednesday, Obi described what he called a sustained campaign of intimidation against him and other opposition figures.
“The way they are going now, I might not be alive,” Obi said.
He accused the government of deliberately frustrating his efforts and making it difficult for him to carry out his daily activities.
“I’m telling you, every single thing I do for a living, this government is frustrating it deliberately,” he said.
Obi alleged that although the actions against him are rarely overt, he believes they bear the fingerprints of the government.
“Everything, so there’s even a possibility if they have opportunity I will not be alive. I get frustrations every day because you do things that you may think may be normal, it is not normal,” he said.

“They won’t come directly and say, ‘Oh, we are doing this,’ but you could see their hand eventually in everything.”
While clarifying that he was not making a direct accusation against any individual, the former governor maintained that he experiences constant obstacles that he believes are designed to undermine him.
He further claimed that the pressure extends beyond his personal experiences, alleging that members of the opposition are also being singled out.
“They are attacking everybody who is in opposition personally,” he stated, adding that he has even been denied some of the entitlements due to him.
Obi also said the atmosphere of fear has affected his relationships with supporters and acquaintances, claiming that some people now avoid being publicly associated with him because of concerns over possible repercussions.
“I have people send me invitations and say, ‘My son, my daughter is wedding, but please don’t come,’” he said.
