United States (US) President Donald Trump has warned Iran that the US is prepared to launch a massive military response if Tehran carries out or attempts any assassination plot against him.

In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump claimed that “1,000 missiles are locked and loaded” and aimed at Iran, with thousands more ready to follow if the Iranian government acts on what he described as threats to assassinate the sitting U.S. president.

“1000 Missiles are Locked and Loaded and aimed at the Islamic Republic of Iran, with thousands of more to immediately follow, should the Iranian Government act on its threat, pronounced in many corners of the Globe, to assassinate, or attempt to assassinate, the sitting President of the United States of America, in this case, ME!,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

He added that orders had already been issued and that the U.S. military was prepared to “completely decimate and destroy all areas of Iran” for a one-year period, with the option of extending the directive.

“Orders have already been given, and the U.S. Military is ready, willing, and able, for a one year period of time, subject to extension, to completely decimate and destroy all areas of Iran,” Trump said.

Trump’s latest remarks follow heightened tensions between Washington and Tehran following years of strained relations over Iran’s nuclear programme, regional security, and alleged Iranian-backed plots targeting current and former U.S. officials.

The latest comments are expected to further inflame already tense relations between the two countries, which have exchanged threats in recent months over security in the Middle East, Iran’s nuclear activities, and attacks involving Iranian-backed groups.
