The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has scheduled a two-hour power outage that will affect certain communities in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Friday.
In a statement issued on Thursday by its General Manager, Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, the company said the maintenance exercise would take place on the 33kV Jiwa Feeder at the 132/33/11kV Suleja Transmission Substation from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m on Friday.
The scheduled outage is necessary to enable its engineers to safely carry out repairs at the substation, according to Mbah.
“The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) wishes to inform the public that an urgent maintenance exercise has been scheduled on the 33kV Jiwa Feeder at the 132/33/11kV Suleja Transmission Substation on Friday, 24th July, 2026 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m.,” the statement read.

As a result of the maintenance, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) will temporarily be unable to supply electricity to several communities.
“Consequently, Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) will be unable to off-take electricity supply to its customers in Dakwa, Madalla, Zuba, COE-FCT, Zuba FHA and Tungan Maje,” TCN said.
The company apologised to residents and businesses likely to be affected by the temporary disruption, assuring customers that electricity would be restored immediately after the work is completed.
