African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, National Chairman David Mark and party Secretary Rauf Aregbesola have urged Osun voters to support the party’s candidate, Najeem Salaam, in Saturday’s governorship election.

The trio made the call on Monday during an ADC campaign rally at Freedom Park in Osogbo, attended by other party leaders, including former senator Dino Melaye.

Atiku appealed to voters to reject intimidation and protect their votes, saying the ADC would provide responsible leadership in the state.

The former Vice President also recalled Osun voters’ support for him during the 2023 presidential election, when he contested under the Peoples Democratic Party.

“I have come today to you again to vote for ADC. This is because I can assure you that the ADC is different from the APC, Accord Party and all other parties.”

“The best of Nigerians are today in ADC. I am appealing to you that in the next governorship election, you should vote for ADC,” Atiku said.

Aregbesola, a former Osun governor and ex-minister of interior, said the ADC was not negotiating or working on an alliance with any political party ahead of the election.

He described the ADC as the only political party that carries the philosophy and vision of former Western Region premier Obafemi Awolowo.

Mark said the party leaders were in Osun to celebrate what he described as the victory the people would deliver to the ADC.

He urged voters not to be afraid and called on them to protect their votes during the election.

Salaam, a former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, promised to implement a 10-point agenda if elected.
