How MTN Users Can Access Nigeria's ₦50,000 Grant

MTN users selected for the Nigerian Government’s ₦50,000 monthly National Emergency Relief and Stabilisation Intervention (NERSI) can check their eligibility and accept funds through the MoMo Payment Service Bank USSD code *671*0#.

Officials select beneficiaries directly from verified national identity records and the National Social Register, contacting them via approved payment providers such as MoMo PSB, OPay, Moniepoint, NairaGram, and ALAT by Wema.

MTN subscribers who are selected must grant consent via the official USSD prompt or SMS notification to receive the monthly stipend into their MoMo wallets.

Meanwhile, MTN Nigeria Support issued an urgent security warning, advising subscribers to disregard circulating social media messages that promise fake 24-hour payouts for sending “YES” to unverified codes.

The telecommunications company urged users never to click unverified links, disclose one-time passwords, share PINs, or transfer money based on third-party instructions.

Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction Dr Bernard Doro clarified that the relief programme requires no application fees or agent registrations, warning citizens to safeguard their Bank Verification Numbers against fraudulent schemes.
