Nigeria's FG Maps out High Risk Areas

Nigeria’s Federal Government has commenced mapping flood-prone communities in order to mitigate its effects on residents.

The National Emergency Management Agency in collaboration with other relief response agencies says there is a need to ensure predictions for the 2021 rainfall year are taken seriously.

The director-general of the agency, Muhammadu Muhammed at a two-day technical expert workshop on “disaster risk management” at the nation’s capital Abuja, says vulnerable communities will be mapped out in response to earlier predictions to ensure they are adequately catered for.
