The House of Representatives ad hoc committee probing the controversial Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council will question Accountant-General of the Federation Shamseldeen Ogunjimi on Monday, as the investigation enters its third week.

The panel, chaired by Yusuf Gagdi, is examining how a body the government says does not exist managed to secure office space at the Federal Secretariat in Abuja and obtain over N1.32 billion in the 2026 budget.

Ogunjimi is expected to clarify how the PFIPC received a budget code that allowed it to feature in the national spending plan, despite its questionable legal standing.

The committee has already heard testimony from the Head of Service of the Federation, Didi Walson-Jack; the Central Bank’s Director of Banking Services, Abdullahi Hamisu; and Budget Office Director-General Tanimu Yakubu.

Their evidence detailed how the PFIPC managed to work its way through official channels and obtain formal documentation.

The probe gained wider attention after the arrest of Adeyemi Adeniyi, who had presented himself as the PFIPC’s director-general.

Both the Presidency and Gbajabiamila have denied any link to Adeniyi, with officials dismissing him as an impostor and rejecting his allegations.

Lawmakers have vowed to conduct a thorough investigation and hold anyone found culpable accountable.

Several other top officials are still due to appear, including Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume, Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu, Foreign Minister Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Finance Minister Taiwo Oyedele, and Attorney-General Lateef Fagbemi.
