The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of plotting to disrupt its summit in Ibadan, Oyo State, alleging attempts to frustrate the gathering after earlier denying them access to venues in Abuja.
ADC’s spokesperson, Bolaji Abdullahi, made this allegation in a post shared on X on Saturday morning.

“We have uncovered plans by the ruling APC to disrupt the summit being held by the opposition parties in Ibadan, Oyo State, today, 25th of April. After denying us the use of venues in Abuja, they now will not leave us alone to hold our meetings,” said Abdullahi.
“They say they are not scared, but they are behaving like people who are terrified. But we will not be deterred, because we are on the side of the Nigerian people.”
The ADC had accused the ruling party of denying them access to venues in Abuja before it eventually settled on the Rainbow Event Centre in Area 8.
The Deputy Chairman of the ADC Convention Media Support Subcommittee and Chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Ladan Salihu, on April 14, said the party was also denied the use of Eagle Square.
“Our findings indicate that directly or indirectly, through third parties and apologies of the APC, the FCT Minister and the government made sure we couldn’t secure any of these venues. The national symbol of our political cohesion is the Eagle Square. It has been consistently used by political parties, irrespective of whoever is in power,” said Salihu.
“But today, this is the shame of a nation that the main opposition political party is clearly denied the right to undertake our convention there.”
