He described the clearance as an important step in his political journey.
“Today in Abuja, I appeared before the APC Governorship Screening Committee ahead of our party primaries.
“I am grateful for the clean bill of approval and clearance to move forward,”he said.

According to him, the ambition is centred on service and a commitment to the people of Lagos State, adding that the state had built a strong foundation and was prepared for a more inclusive phase of development.
“This journey is about service and a commitment to all Lagosians.
“We have built a solid foundation and now we are ready to take the next step toward a greater and more inclusive Lagos,” the post further read.
The deputy governor also reaffirmed his readiness to continue engaging with residents as the political process advances.
The screening exercise forms part of the APC’s internal process for selecting candidates ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
Earlier in the week, Hamzat submitted his expression of interest and nomination forms for the race, saying his aspiration was driven by a desire to improve governance and strengthen opportunities for residents and businesses across the state.
