The All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed as fake a purported press release circulating on social media claiming the party has not yet released the names of successful candidates from its recently concluded primaries.

The document, presented as an official APC statement, claimed the party had yet to announce the outcome of the primaries and urged the public to disregard any reports purporting to name successful candidates.

“The All Progressives Congress (APC) hereby informs the general public that it has not released the official list of successful candidates from its recently conducted party primaries,” the purported statement read.

“The public is therefore advised to disregard any publication or report purporting to announce the outcome of the primaries, as such information is false and unauthorised.

“Successful candidates will be duly notified through the Party’s official channels, after which Certificates of Return will be issued in accordance with established procedures.”

However, the APC disowned the document by posting a screenshot of it on its official X account with the caption, “Fake News.”

The purported press release, dated June 27, 2026, bore the APC’s letterhead and appeared to originate from the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja in an apparent attempt to give it credibility.

The document also falsely claimed to have been signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka.
