Former United States (US) President Joe Biden’s prostate cancer has spread to his bones and is causing him significant pain, his son Hunter Biden has revealed.
Hunter Biden made the disclosure in an interview with the BBC, describing his father’s condition as “very sad to watch.”
“The cancer has spread, metastasised into his bones and further. It’s very painful and it’s very debilitating in many respects,” Hunter said.
Biden announced his prostate cancer diagnosis in May 2025, less than four months after leaving the White House.
Hunter said the diagnosis has been difficult for the family, describing Biden as the centre of the family and its “rock.”
“The only thing that I’d say about my dad, about his health right now, is I wish he would complain more, because it’s not good,” he said.
The latest update comes after former First Lady Jill Biden said in June that her husband would “live with cancer the rest of his life” following the spread of the disease.
The 83-year-old has previously undergone radiation and hormone treatment.
He also had surgery in September to remove cancerous skin cells.
Despite his health challenges, Hunter said the former president remains active and continues to speak publicly about issues important to him.
“He’s still doing his thing,” Hunter said. “He so believes in this country.”
Biden was the oldest person to serve as US president, with his age and health drawing significant attention during his four years in office.
