Chelsea have agreed a £117 million ($157 million) deal to sign England World Cup midfielder Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa, according to multiple reports on Saturday.
The 23-year-old standout, who has highly impressed fans and scouts during the ongoing tournament in North America, will commit to the US-owned London club on a long-term seven-year contract.
Rogers’ high-profile departure marks the second major midfield exit for Aston Villa this week, following Belgian World Cup star Youri Tielemans’ recent move to Manchester United.

To offset these losses, Villa management moved quickly to reinforce their squad, announcing on Friday the signing of 20-year-old Switzerland winger Johan Manzambi from German club Freiburg for a record fee exceeding £50 million.
